Sometime ago in the not so distant past, we were at a point in our lives where we made a decision to take back control of our lives. Before going into details, let us tell you briefly our story.

We are a couple with two lovely daughters. We both work your typical 9-5 Monday to Friday jobs. Although we are earning above the average income threshold, we quickly found out the following:

• We didn’t have enough time for the kids
• We weren’t able to save as much we would love to every month.
• Even though we love to travel a lot, we haven’t been able to do so mainly because of the costs of booking a holiday during school holidays and the restrictions of taking time off work at the same time 
• Our social life was also suffering. We were always so busy during the week and with the weekend packed with a lot of activities in a bid to catch up on what we had missed during the week left us with no time to socialise. Most times we find ourselves wishing we had a 3 day weekend (if only wishes were horses)
• We recognised that there was no 100% job security when you are working for someone else which became evident when one us was suddenly made redundant.
